October 2023Vol. 24, No. 8Free Training Focuses on Structural and Institutional Racism

“Understanding Structural and Institutional Racism” is a free, self-paced online course designed to help child welfare professionals and other health and human service providers deepen their understanding of the interconnected social systems and ideologies that form the foundation of racial inequality in our society. The training is organized into three sections that discuss core concepts like political economy, racial capitalism, White supremacy, and structural and institutional racism; how White supremacist ideology influences society; and the role the child welfare workforce can play in antiracist activism.

The training is available on the Boston University School of Social Work website. To access the course, users must first register and create a free account.
