NCANDS Data Reports on Alternative Responses, Recurrence, and Male Perpetrators

The National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS) data from 2002 serves as the basis for three reports released over the last year by the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services:

Rereporting and Recurrence of Child Maltreatment explores the circumstances of children with repeated involvement with CPS, following children for up to 5 years.

Alternative Responses to Child Maltreatment examines case-level data from six States that employed both alternative and traditional investigative responses to reports of maltreatment.
