The Children's Bureau website carries information on child welfare programs, funding, monitoring, training and technical assistance, laws, statistics, research, Federal reporting, and much more. The "New on Site" section includes grant announcements, policy announcements, agency information, and recently released publications.
Recent additions to the site include:
- Request for Public Comment and Consultation Meetings on AFCARS links to the Federal Register announcement requesting public comment by October 21 (http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/cb/laws_policies/index.htm#laws). (Scroll down to Regulations.) Those interested in commenting may want to register for webinars on this topic scheduled for September 8 and 15 (http://www.nrccwdt.org/resources/afcars/afcars.html).
- Program Instruction (PI) 10-11 provides guidance on implementing the Fostering Connections to Success and Increasing Adoptions Act of 2008, including comprehensive guidance, titles IV-B and IV-E plan requirements, title IV-E plan amendment – definition of "child," and Extension of Title IV-E Assistance, Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/cb/laws_policies/policy/pi/2010/pi1011.htm).
- Technical Bulletin #1—File Structure for the National Youth in Transition Database (NYTD) has been reissued to contain additional and revised instructions about reporting NYTD data to the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) (http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/cb/systems/nytd/technical_bulletins.htm ).
- Status of Program Improvement Plans (PIPs) and Subsequent Child and Family Services Reviews chart has been updated to show PIP completion and evaluation by State (http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/cb/cwmonitoring).
- The Child and Family Services Reviews Update, an online newsletter, includes news on review schedules, technical assistance, and changes in leadership (http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/cb/cwmonitoring/cfsr/jun10.htm).
