July/August 2013Vol. 14, No. 6NCWWI's Latest National E-Update

The National Child Welfare Workforce Institute's (NCWWI) winter/spring issue of its National E-Update newsletter features an announcement of the institute's Workforce Research Summaries. The summaries are one-page overviews of recent research studies on 25 topics related to child welfare and are intended for use by child welfare professionals. Topics include realistic job previews, organizational culture, recruitment and retention, and secondary traumatic stress.

The newsletter also highlights other recent resources. NCWWI publishes topical e-resource lists for its Leadership Academies for Middle Managers and Supervisors and its Traineeship programs, and several new lists are now available. The lists cover topics such as caseload and workload, well-being and new policy directions for child welfare, and more. The issue also points to newly archived webinar recordings available to the public, including the following:

  • "Casework Teaming to Reduce Workload, Enhance Effectiveness, and Boost Morale"
  • "Learning and Living the NCWWI Leadership Model"
  • "The Status of Evidence-Based Practice in Child Welfare Opportunities and Challenges for the Workforce"
