Children and Family Futures, an organization dedicated to improving collaborative practice and policy among the substance abuse, child welfare, Tribal child welfare, and family judicial systems, announced its 2014 webinar series The Family Drug Court Learning Academy. The webinar training series will outline steps agencies and organizations can take to mitigate barriers to creating successful family drug court programs, including challenges with budgets, policies, partnerships with other agencies, and more.
Upcoming webinars include the following:

  • June 12: "Closed Doors or Welcome Mat? Opening the Way for Medical Assisted Treatment in FDC"
  • July 10: "So How Do You Know They Are Really Ready? Key Considerations for Assessing Families in Recovery for Reunification"
  • August 14: "Exploring Solutions Together – The Issue of Racial and Ethnic Disproportionality in FDCs"
  • September 11: "Matching Service to Need – Exploring What “High-Risk, High-Need” Means for FDCs"
