The Child Welfare League of America (CWLA) released a new training curriculum on working with kinship caregivers. The curriculum outlines the background on the shift in child welfare toward kinship care placement, highlights issues of concern between social workers and kinship caregivers, and demonstrates a set of collaboration competencies.

CWLA also will host a 2-day training on working with kinship caregivers prior to its National Kinship Care Conference in September. The training will feature a 12-hour curriculum practice model on collaboration that will focus on working with kinship caregivers to enhance child safety, well-being, and permanency.
