January/February 2016Vol. 16, No. 10Selecting and Implementing Evidence-Based Practices
The California Evidence-Based Clearinghouse (CEBC) for Child Welfare developed a guide for child welfare administrators and social services professionals that provides information and examples of evidence-based practice implementation activities for professionals working with children, youth, and families within the child welfare system. The guide offers concrete information that child welfare professionals can use to define and identify evidence-based practice models in child welfare; examines implementation and decision-making strategies and framework models that evaluate programs; and explores the Exploration Preparation Implementation and Sustainment (EPIS) framework. Resources and toolkits related to the EPIS framework are provided. The guide was developed to accompany the CEBC registry of programs and is based on innovative research related to implementation science and on lessons learned through CEBC technical assistance with county child welfare systems.
